The chief interest at the Canterbury Park Racing Club's Spring Meeting today was the defeat of Talking, Mala, and Lynch Law in the Canterbury Stakes by The Marne, who, however, had the run of the race besides drawing No. 1 position. Talking was a real disappointment, finishing weakly in fourth place, but Mala., .was flying at the finish. Mala, like Lough Neagh and Sarcherie, found the distance too short.
