<. FEILDIMG STOCK SALE SHARP RISE IN BEEF Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report on th 3 Feilding sale held on, Friday, when smaller entries in the' sheep section, came forward. Fat wethers and hoggets were penned in -lighter numbers with no outstanding quality. There was a steady sale at late rates for prime sheep. Fat ewes were not cjuite so numerous, but some well-finished pens were, included. For these there was animated competition, the top price being 445. The offering of hoggets was quite a good one, only art odd-pen,ot ewe hoggets coming to hand, and- for these there was spirited competition with prices about Is 6d better than previous sales. The wether hoggets were a little irregular in sale, but the market was fully firm on late rates. A fair entry of beef cattle sold * to strong competition, the market showing a rise of 20s to 30s a head. The store pens contained principally store Jersey cows and yearling Jersey heifers. There was a good sale in this section. The dairy offering comprised four pens of cows and three pens of heifers. Although there was a good sale, it "ould be hardly quoted as high, as the previous week. BUOYANT MARKET. The New Zealand Farmers' Co-op. Distributing Co., t.td., report:—There was a very buoyant market for all classes' of stock. A good yarding oi fat sheep met with spirited bidding, and the top price for this season of ±.^ 4s 3d was paid for a line of So fat ewes offered on account of Mr. W. A. Thomson,- Kairanga. The store sheep were confined mostly to hoggets, and. again there was a keen demand. A.1 small yarding of dairy heifers, and cows met with a good sale although tne quality for the most part was not as good ;as u:ual.
