LONG TRAIL BY ROAD
FANS FROM MARLBOROUGH
(By Telegraph.)
(Special to the "Evening Post,")
BLENHEIM, September 3.
Interest in the second Test in Marlborough is exceptionally keen, and during tonight and the early hours tomorrow a large contingent of enthusiasts will be on the road to Christchurch. Many parties have been arranged to travel by private car, and although it is difficult to estimate the exact number malting the trip it will certainly run into three or four hundred. Several car loads left this afternoon, but the majority will set out about midnight in order to overcome the difflcuty of finding accommodation at Christchurch, the idea being to go straight to the ground soon -after arrival, and leave on the return journey after the match. Several taxis have been engaged, and special arrangements also have been made by service car companies to cater for the demand for south transport. Three service cai-s which set out from Nelson this evening picked up about twenty passengers in Blenheim. The schedule runs of the service cars have been fully booked, more than 100 people having been taken to Christchurch yesterday and today.
Bookings on the airway services are not exceptionally heavy, but the two machines of the Marlborough Aero Club have been specially engaged to make the trip.
