Results of cricket matches are:—
Yorkshire v. M.C.C., at Scarborough. —M.C.C., 213 (Tindill 56, Hendren 51) and 299 for eight, declared (Wyatt 158 not out). Yorkshire, 316 (Hutton 84, Barber 70) and 201 for two (Hutton 64 not out, Sutcliffe 94). Yorkshire won by eight wickets.
Sussex v. Surrey, at Hove.—Sussex, 214 and 403 (James Landridge 95, Oakes 139 not out). Surrey, 495^ (Sandham 102,' Gregory 124, Holmes 115) and 124 for three wickets. Surrey won by seven wickets.
