"ITALIAN (BANDITRY"
INDIGNATION IN RUSSIA
(Received September 4, 10 a.m.)
MOSCOW, September 3,
Commenting on the sinking of the steamer Timiryazev, the "Izvestia" accuses Italy of piracy in the Mediterranean and describes Sign or Mussolini as "the notorious chieftain of a band of Fascist cut-throats and avowed and glorified medieval banditry." The "Pravda" says: "The Soviet Government will be able to take care of the mad Italian bandits."
Thousands of protest meetings are being held throughout the country, but there is no indication yet what steps the Soviet is taking on • the Mediterranean question.
