ON HER WAY HOME
LADY KINGSFORD SMITH
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, September 3. "It has been a glorious holiday, but the biggest thrill is still ahead of me," said Lady Kingsford Smith, who arrived at Auckland by the Mariposa en route to Australia. Though her stay in the United States had been most enjoyable, Lady Kingsford Smith said she was anxious to see her small son Charles, whom she had left with friends. She had decided that five months was too long to be parted from him. He was now nearly five years old and possessed a model aeroplane which was among his favourite toys. A memorial plaque to Sir Charles Kingsford Smith, presented by the Mayor of Auckland, Sir Ernest Davis, was unveiled in the Hall of Memories at the Auckland War Memorial Museum by Lady Kingsford Smith. Tributes were paid to the aviator's great services. ,
