St. Andrew's Hall was gay with Hewers and foliage when the Flimmerton Institute celebrated its sixth birthday recently, . ■ • , A large and representative gathering of members and guests was welcomed by the president, Mrs, §urd. Members of Porirua and Paekakariki Institutes were present and greetings .were received from every Institute in the federation, > The district executive, the Pioneer Club, smd the Farmers' Division were all represented and the programme submitted was varied and enjoyable. Vocal solos by Mrs. Gandell were much appreciated, as also were a. pianoforte duet and part-songs by members of the Singing Circle. A- popular item was a one-act play, "Joint Owners ih Spain," by members of the, Drama Circle. A basket of spring flowers was presented to the president, and, shoulder sprays to those who provided the programtne.
