ST. JOHN AMBULANCE
CADET COMPETITIONS
The Wellington inter-district cadet competitions of the St. John Ambulance opened in Wellington at the Wellesley College, today. They will conclude' this afternoon. + There are five trophies being competed for—the Alfred Robin Memorial Shield for the New Zealand Ambulance Cadet Championship and the Gilberd Cup to the champion team leader; the Wellington Ambulance Cadet Championship Shield and Wigston Cup to the best Wellington team leader; the Weir lington ambulance cadet junior championship shield; the Wellington nursing cadet championship shield; and the Wellington nursing cadet . junior championship- cup. The following districts are being represented, making a total of 48 teams:-Wellington Central, YMC.A., Wellesley College, Wellington East, Karori, Petone, Wanganui, Christchurch, and Masterton. Tonight at the Wellington V.M.C.A., the formal presentation of trophies will take placf. Miss Robins, donor of the shield, will hand it to Colonel Esson, lieutenant commander of the commanded of the Order of St. Jota in New Zealand, and the Hon. Sir Charles Statham. M.L.C., will present the trophy to the winning team. Sir, James Elliott will present the remaining trophies.
