THE SHIP BERAR
Mr. J. Bucklon has written to me supplying further-details of the ship Berar. "I was on board the Aldergrove as one of the crew in 1883 when she was carrying some 450 immigrants to Adelaide,", lie states."The Berar which was also engaged at that time under the Anderson and Anderson flag in carrying immigrants, arrived in Adelaide shortly after the Aldergrove, just on Christmas of that year. This was the last shipload of immigrants to South Australia by sailing' ship.
"Subsequently she carried immigrants to Queensland, but beyond that I have no further knowledge of her."
