TOURING HOCKEY TEAM
' - BRISBANE, July 29. The New- Zealand hockey team defeated Toowoomba 4-1. Proud, the Toowoomba goalie, won a penalty bully. D. S. Wilson opened.New Zealand's score. Toowoomba equalised, Smillie fumbling a clearance. The other scorers for New Zealand were Best and Duffield (two). The home forwards were unable to finish off and New Zealand were constantly attacking. Their outstanding forwards were Best and Duffield, and Mahoney was the best, back. The ground was loose and bumpy, but the weather perfect.
