Mrs. Claude Newton, Christchurch, who has been for a motor tour of the , North Island with her father, Dr. ; Hughes Steele, visiting Napier, Rotoi rua, and the Chateau, arrived in Wel- ■ lington this afternoon and will spend ; the weekend with her parents before returning home. ! Dr. and Mrs. Earp-Thomas and Miss Earp-Thomas have left for Auckland, where they will join the Maunganui for the Island cruise, after which they will spend some time at the Bay of Islands. Mrs. Rutherford and Miss E. Rutherford, Mendip Hills, Canterbury, who are staying at the Midland Hotel, will leave for their home on Monday. Miss Gwen Harcourt, and Miss Thelma Gibson, Normanby, Nelson, are visiting Wellington, and are the guests of Mrs. Arthur Farmar, Pirie Street. Mrs. Jack Coffey, Greymouth, is visiting Wellington and staying with her mother, Mrs. Brodrick, at Rona Bay. Mrs. C. H. Clibborn, Christchurch, is visiting her sister, Mrs. K. W. Conner, Wellington. Miss Patricia Grigg, Blenheim, who has been visiting England, returned to Wellington by the Rangitata. Miss A. B. Bowker, who has been on a trip to England, arrived in Wellington by the Rangitata. Mrs. W. B. Harris, Christchurch, is visiting Wellington, and is the guest of Mrs. C. E. Beeby. Mr.-and. Mrs. D. W. Black, Wellington, are visiting Timaru and staying at the Balmoral Hotel. Miss J. Eggie, Wellington, is visiting Auckland and staying at the Hotel Royal. Mrs. H. Dawson and Mrs. H. Smith, Pahiatua, and Mrs. Breen, Dunedin, are visitors to Wellington staying at the Grand Hotel. Mrs. Lan Higgie (Wanganui), Mrs. P. Young (Timaru), Mrs. Leslie Wilson, and Miss Moodie (Dunedin) are visitors to Wellington staying at the Midland Hotel. Mrs. W. Henry, Napier, is visiting Wellington and staying at the Empire Hotel. Mrs. Lane (Hunterville), Mrs, C. V. Smith (Dunedin), and Miss Josephine Broglie (California) are visitors 10 Wellington staying at the Hotel St. George. Mrs. I. M. Glenn, Hawera, who has been visiting Wellington, has returned home. Miss Eileen Pearson, Wellington, is visiting Hamilton and is the guest of her sister, Mrs. R. Clough. Miss M. Rower, who has been visiting Wellington, has returned to her home in Eltham. Mrs. O. F. Mclntyre, New Plymouth, has returned home after visiting Wellington. Miss Tui Murtagh, Wellington, who has been paying a short visit to Hamilton, returned home on Wednesday night. Mrs. Charles Gardner, Hastings, accompanied by Mrs. M. R. G. Matheson and Miss Mildred Shaw, arrived in Wellington by car recently. Mr. F. S. Candy and Miss Lyndal Candy, Hastings, motored to Wellington to meet Miss Phyllis Candy, who arrived by the.Rangitata on Wednesday. Mrs. C. Malfroy, Wellington, who has been the guest of Mrs. Jefferies, Stratford, "has returned to Wellington. Mrs. Alex Brodie, who has~been visiting her mother, Mrs. Drader, New Plymouth, has returned to her home in Wellington. Mrs. J. Powell, New Plymouth, is visiting Wellington. » Miss P.
