In the mass of evidence adduced, the action brought by Lady Hunter against the trustees of the estate of. the late Sir George Hunter must rank with the Bayly murder trial and the Riccarton inquest. The Bayly trial lasted twentynine days, and although the Riccarton inquest was shorter the depositions were longer. The opening addresses and evidence in the Hunter case occupied twenty-one days. The Judge's associate typed 299 foolscap pages of evidence for the plaintiff, and 278 for the defendants, a total of 577, There were eighteen witnesses for the plaintiff and twenty-six for the defendants; 109 exhibits were produced for the plaintiff, and 58 for the defendants. All exhibits were photographic or documentary- ■
The case is expected to end on Wednesday, the final addresses being given on Monday.
