BISHOP'S ADDRESS
The kiosk at Saatoun avhs filled to capacity for the-June meeting- of the . Seatoun branch of the League of Mothers. Mrs. Oliver .presided, and welcomed the many visitors,1 also members who had not attended for some time. A short induction service was held, several new members being admitted into full membership. - ' Mrs. Allan gave the thought for the month—"Count your blessings, count them one by one.'' \ '.-:''"''• ■'•• The choir gave a cki'ghtful; rendering of the; "Blue- Danube,",:.'.and' c*\, songs were charmingly, sung by Miss Christie, which were greatly appre- ■ ciated. : ' ■ ; '.-'- ' ;:.'.- '.;;V' ■■ •; Bishop Holland .gave: an address on the, "Sanctity of Marriage." He stated ' that marriage deeply concerned1 the ; life of the whole nation, and its .high- ■ est ideals were absolutely, vital to the well-being of its people. The Christian law gave!to marriage its rightful place in human .relationships, and ■ without the discipline and sacrifices it entailed, "both before and after" marriage, :■ the ■ whole idea of married ■■ life' ..became i muddied and frustrated. At the present tim 2, the Bishop stated, the,world was up against a terrific revolution, in .the ethics of morality,/ .the present ideas being desperately "-dangerous, to civilisation. The home was the'foundation of human society,, and .parenthood brought to marriage, a deepening";and sweetening, of character.. '. ; ,; >;.,,
