EL GALLO'S DOUBLES
Perhaps Ihc most polished of all tfie jumpers who have earned Great Northern distinction is El Gallo, who won the Hurdles and Steeplechase in 1915 and repeated the performance in 1916, a feat that no other horse has yet equalled, though Sir Eosebery won three of the four races in successive years. To give an idea of how natural a juniper El Gallo was, it might be mentioned that between his double successes at Ellerslie lie did not jump a fence of any kind, being fitted for his second triumph with racing on the flat.

he has yet to add to his winning record this season. He is already on the scene at Ellerslie, where he was not engaged today, and he is reported to be now back to his best form at present. With the assistance of his owner, one of the leading amateurs in the Dominion, he should be capable of a solid performance next. Wednesday.
