NGAROMA CROQUET CLUB
The annual general meeting of the Nearoma Croquet Club was held recently. There was a large attendance of members. Mrs. Fairley occupying the chair. The balance-sheet showed a very satisfactory financial position. Officers for the ensuing season were elected as follows:—Patron, Mr Coles; president Mrs. Franks; vice-presidents, Mesdames Galvin. Laurie. Fairley. Pickard Gilbanks. Coles. McKenzie. Morris Martin. Miss Morris, and Messrs. Cotton, Lippett, Sargisson, Caley. Fairley Martin, Fairburn, /Hogg, and Croft: secretary, Mrs. B. A. Sargisson; treasurer, Mrs. Russell; captain, Mrs. Fairley (Mrs. J. Millar to assist); committee, Mesdames Laurie,, Pickard, A. Millar Roberts, Holland, McKay, Prentice Kerr, and McAdam; green committee, Mesdames. McKay, A. Millar, and Holland; tea convener, Mrs. Pickard; delegates to association, Mrs. Fairley and Mrs. Franks; advisory board, Messrs. Cotton, Lippett, J. Millar, McPherson, Martin,-Fairburn, and "mi-s Fairley thanked the outgoing officers, a special tribute being paid to Mrs. Martin, who has just completed fen years' service as secretary.
When making jellies and blancmanges, add a little extra liquid in winter, otherwise they will be too stiff. In summer use a little less than the specified quantity, or they will not set well.
"Nicholas Nickleby," kept the audience laughing throughout. The following took part:—Mr. and Mrs. Page, Mr. and Mrs. Bordeaux, Mr. and Mrs. Shaker, Mr. and Mrs- Prince, Mrs. Vaughan, Mrs. 'Lawrence, Mr. Packwood, and Rosemary Page.
Later in the week the Drarhatic Club held another successful evening in their rooms in Druids' Chambers.'
