DISCOVERY IN GARAGE

AUCKLAND, June 4.

Unsuccessful efforts were made to .•evive Mr. H. Beckett, a well-known resident of Howick, when he was found unconscious in his garage.

' Mr. Beckett, who was a retired farmer living at Shelly Park, Howick, was discovered by his family when they returned home from a visit to* Auckland about 5 o'clock. The engine of the deceased's car was running and the doors of the garage were only partially opened. Until the arrival of .a doctor, artificial respiration was applied. by Mr. Beckett's son,.but without avail. Further efforts, on the part of the doctor also proved unsuccessful. ' Mr. Beckett, who was aged,64, was a well-known bowler.
