STARTED THREE TIMES

At a previous meeting of the board of ; the New Zealand Trotting Association .Mr. Hay ward said he had drawn attention 'to the starting of a horse three times in one afternoon at the Cheviot Meeting. He wished now to draw attention to the starting of Golden Moness at the Kaikoura Meeting. Mr. Hay ward quoted from the "Press" a report of Golden Moness having been started in three races in one afternoon, and he suggested that so much racing for a three-year-old was not in the interests of trotting. Mr. Kitchingham asked whether the board had any power under the rules to take action without affecting owners as well as clubs. Mr. Hayward said he quite realised the position: but the board should let it be known that it disapproved of the practice of starting horses so. often in one day. ..'-•■ .
