SHORTAGE OF GARAGES?
(To the Editor.)
Sir,—After reading letters appearing in "The Post", concerning shortage of garages, I, as owner of a vacant garage, would like to relate .my experience. I am the owner of a'house and garage, and as my teniht did not possess a car, I undertook to let the garage separately and posted up a notice to the effect that the garage was to let at 5s per week, yet in spite of the fact that the garage (a concrete one, 19ft x 10ft) had cost me £135 to, build and that I was also paying £4 12s annually to the City Council for road reservation rental, this garage was vacant for over nine months. A few weeks ago I received a letter from the owner of a car telling me that 5s weekly i rental was exorbitant, and offering me 3s 6d per week. As I couldn't see the rea-1 son why I should pay interest on £ 135, j also road rental in addition, for the benefit of other people, my correspondent still parks his car on the roadside. Possibly other garage owners have had similar experiences.—-I am, etc., • ■;: ~-■ .GARAGE-.OWNER. ' Additional letters, on the widely-discussed question of military training; are published on pa ß e 12. ■
