TRIBUTE TO DOMINION
"New Zealand," says Lady Elibank, "is the most beautiful country I have ever seen. The cities, too, "are well laid out, and, the shops quite up to date; I bought one of the nicest hats I have ever worn there," reports "The Post's" London representative. "In Australia the scene at Flemington on Melbourne Cup day was unforgettable. I had always heard it was the finest racecourse in the world, but had no idea of the real beauty of the trees and flowers. Such lovely flowers everywhere, and the festoons, of growing roses on the rails around the racecourse. . . . We have always been much interested in Australia and New Zealand, and feel it a great privilege to have visited those countries to-renew old friendships and'to make new ones."
Mr. and Mrs L H. Allen and their family, accompanied by Mr?. H F Allen (all of Wellington) have been sightseeing in London, and they have been visiting beauty spots in. the immediate vicinity. They have taken a furnished maisonette mv Kensington, where they will remain until early June, and then.; they will motor through Devonshire and Cornwall A visit to Paris, as well as to the battlefields in Belgium, n is intended before leturning to London at the latter part of July, when they will leave foi Montreal. On August 17 they will con nect with the Mariposa for New Zealand, their route across including New York, Washington, Boston, San Francisco, *nd Los Angeles. .
The Rev. Canon G. Y. Woodward, Mrs. Woodward, and their two daughters (Palmerston North) have bought a car and intend tounxig England and Scotland before returning to New Zealand at the end of-the year.
