HORSES AT MARTON.
The New.. Zealand- Farmers' -.Co.operative, Distributing Col,-.-JMxu1 oftered awarding of ill norsea at the ton horse lair on Monday; consisting of 31 unbroken hordes, 45 broken draughts, 35 hacks. arid harness sorts. The market was decidedly easier than at previous fairs. There' seemed to be an over-supply, and the demand '• was strictly limited* probably- because of the very wet season, wnich has prevented farmers progressing with their agricultural wprK, and also because a number of farmers .have recently invested' in tractors, and whole teams have been;: put on the market. .Only anything; showing .weight- and "quality attracted competition, and light horses in practically all sections were neglected. The passings at :auct!on were fairly heavy, but a number were disposed of. privately after the sale. Practically half the yarding were sold.. ■~ V . , , "■ Mr. Openshaw's consignment realised £47 10s for an upstanding eight-year mare by Bold Review, and £47 for a six-year gelding by the same sire. Mr. Morgan • Rowlands; Feilding, also realised £47 10s for an exceptionally good four-year gelding, and' an eight-year gelding on account of Mr. R. H. Halse realised £42.'A three-year gelding, by Barron Wallace on' account of Mr. F. Hart, Bulls, realised £44, and a seven-
