SATAN AND FIGHT FAN.
The Mephisto in the New York production "Dr. Faustus" is played by a negro called Jack darter. His contract is rather a unique document. It seems to stipulate that although he is bound in service for the run of the play, his obligation to the Federal Theatre shall not require him to act at any time when a J!oe Louis prize fight is going on.in New York. Luckily, the Louis-Pastor fight did not start until late at night, so Mr.- Carter was ableto play both Satan and fight fan in one night.
