MARSHAL'S BATON
PRESENTATION TO THE KING

It will not be possible for the Duke of Connaught, as the senior British Field Marshal, to present the Field Marshal's baton to the King at Buckingham Palate tomorrow, as the Duke is not yet well enough to leave Bournemouth, where he is staying, although ne i s continuing to mak e good progress. In the absence of the Duke of Connaught Sir William Birdwood will head the deputation of Field Marshals and will hand the baton to the King.
