POPULAR BRIDE-ELECT
A popular .Wellington girl, whose wedding will take place on Saturday afternoon is Miss Shirley Hopkins. She is the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. P. Hopkins, Hobson Crescent, and her fiance is Mr. John Lillie, of Melbourne.
A large number of pre-wedding parties have been given for Miss Hopkins, among the hostesses being her four bridesmaids, the Misses Judy Allen. Jan Sloman, Betty Ellis, and Janet Miles. A joint flag-bridge party was given' by .Miss Miles and Miss: Ellis, and the guests brought gifts of handkerchiefs. Miss Allen's party was a "work-basket" gift tea, which she gave at her home in Burnell Avenue, and Miss Sloman had a "recipe" bridge party one night at her home in Tinakori Road. Others who have entertained in honour of Miss Hopkins include the Misses Arline and Irua Porter, and Miss Patricia GreenfieldBrown.
