DUCHESS OF BEDFORD

LONDON, March 22. Grave fears are entertained for the safety of the veteran airwoman the Duchess of Bedford, who took off solo in her own Moth aeroplane from her home -at Woburn Abbey, Bedfordshire, at 3,30 p.m., after which no news has been received from her. The Duchess of Bedford, who is in. her 72nd year, made a record flight to India and back in '.7J- days with Captain Barnard as pilot in 1929, and also a record flight with the same pilot to the Cape and back in 1930.
