TWO ANNUAL MEETINGS

The annual meeting .of the Reiko-rangi-Waikanae Women's Institute was held recently in the school hall. Reikorangi. Mrs. G. A. Monk was unanimously re-elected president.

A talk by Mrs. Gibson Young on matters relating to the institutes, was listened to with interest, and many questions were asked and answered. The president referred to the death, since the previous meeting' of two of the institute's ■ earliest members, Mrs. L. Brown and Mrs. F. Callahan, and out of respect for them those present stood for a moment in silence.

Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mesdames Meyer and ■ Stubbings, and Miss Stubbings.

Mrs. Synnott presided at the annual meeting of the Otaki Women's Institute. Mrs. Fogden, secretary, read her report, and Mrs. Walter Taylor, treasurer, submitted the balance-sheet. A talk on "Institute Aims and Ideals" was given by Mrs. Kettlewell, a member of the executive committee.

Office bearers were elected as follows: —President, Mrs. Hopkins; vicepresidents, Mesdames Dickson , and Synnott; secretary, Mrs.'; puffin; assistant secretary, Mrs. Nicholson; treasurer, Mrs. Walter Taylor; committee Mesdames Barrett, Chittick, Will Taylor, Lews, Thompson, and Weenink.

The points prize for the year was won by Miss. Margaret Taylor, with Mrs. George Evans second.
