UNIVERSITY TITLES

SOME INTERESTING BOUTS

The annual boxing tournament of Victoria University College' was held last night at the Winter Show Stadium, when aspirants for the college team to travel to Christchurch for the interuniversity contests at Easter had a chance to prove their claims.

Nearly all the bouts were evenly contested, and some promising talent showed up' during the course of the evening.

S. Walsh, winner of the featherweight title, won the trophy donated by Mr. F. D. Kean, chairman of the Wellington Boxing Association, for the most scientific display. E. Evans, who showed up well in the semi-final, sustained an-injury which prevented him from entering the final. Mr. E.. Stewart was referee, and Messrs: F. D.
