SCHOOL STRIKE
AMBUSH FOR TEACHERS

LONDON, March 10,
Gangster methods have, entered into the Achill Island school strike. Parents aided their children to lie in ambush, and rush the school in an attempt to capture the teachers, four of whom left the island, fearing attacks. Despite increased police protection, so far nine teachers and parents have been injured, and the schoolhouse has been considerably damaged.
A cable on March 4 stated that fifty] parents of school children on strike in,' Achill Island, Ireland, assaulted a teacher and roughly handled two constables. Police reinforcements were necessary before the parents were routed. The strike was due to the teachers' refusal to prepare meals.
