MEW OFFICE SUGGESTED
DOMINIONS REPRESENTATION

LONDON, March 10,
With a full page streamer, "Dominion Minister for Cabinet," the "Daily Mail" features a suggestion that a representative from one of the Dominions be included in Mr. Neville Chamberlain's reconstruction as a representative of the Empire, probably becoming chairman of the Imperial Defence Committee.,
"Mr. Stanley Bruce (Australian High Commissioner) is mentioned for the post." says the "Daily Mail," but failing his acceptance General Smuts (South African Minister of Justice) may be invited. Though he would be a member of the Cabinet and chairman of the Defence Committee, he would not have a seat in Parliament, but it is likely that he would supersede Sir Thomas Inskip in much of his work in charge of co-ordination of defence."
