NATIONAL RESERVE MEETING
The opening meeting for the year of the Kelburn-Northland Branch of the Women's National Reserve was held yesterday afternoon at the residence of Mrs. Preston, when Mrs. J. Priestley, acting-president, was in the chair. It was decided that the effort for the month should take the form of donations and groceries for the Residential Nursery, and that these would be received at next month's meeting in the Kelburn schoolroom. Donations from members of the public interested in the movement will also be accepted. The guest of honour for the afternoon was Mrs. A. B. Gibbons, deputypresident of the Residential Nursery, who gave an interesting address on the work of the Nursery, and mentioned that a similar institution had recently been founded in England. Three songs by Mrs.. Mitchell (accompanied by Mrs. Play-Mackenzie) were much appreciated. Hostesses for the afternoon were Mesdames Preston and Parkinson.
