LONDON, February 13.
Mr. and Mrs. C. K. Steward (Christchurch) arrived by the Strathaird. The vessel experienced a very rough time from the Bay of Biscay to the English Channel. For the first time for a great number of years, a P. and O. liner was unable to put into Plymouth. Mr. and Mrs. Steward have come to be near their two sons, one of whom is Mr. C. E. W. Steward, who is. taking modern languages at Emmanuel College, Cambridge, and the other, Mr. J. K. Steward, is continuing his medical studies at Middlesex Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. N. B. Boyd (Wellington) are staying in London. They will i leave for the Continent, visiting Vienna, Venice, Switzerland, the Riviera, and Paris. On their return, they will remain in London until after the Coronation and then they will tour England, Scotland, and Ireland by car. Early in August the, return journey to New Zealand will be begun, via Suez. A break of several weeks will be made in Australia. In connection with his business, Mr. Boyd will visit the British Industries Fair thi.'S month. Professor Winifred Cullis was the guest of honour at a dinner given last night in Crosby Hall by the London Association of the British Federation of University Women on her return from a visit to Australia and New Zealand. Mrs. Charles Crosby (formerly Miss Mollie Cummings, Palmerston North), has recently returned to London from Cheshire, where she has been visiting relatives.. At Easter time she will go to Dublin to stay with her husband'srelatives, and then she will make a short tour through the country. After the Coronation, Mrs. Crosby will spend some. time in France, and she will visit Paris for the Exhibition. A motor tour accompanied by New Zealand friends has been planned for the South of England later in the summer. Miss Ida M. Kirk (Napier Girls' High School) expects to remain in England for twelve months, and is hoping to take a course of. study at London University as well as to observe teaching methods in some of the biggest girls' schools here. A visit to the Continent has been planned for the latter part of the year.
