LEAGUE OF MOTHERS
HEALTH OF CHILDREN
The Masonic Hall was gaily bedecked with flowers when the members of the Island Bay-Berhampore branch of the League of Mothers attended the first meeting for the year the,re recently. Mrs. Janson presided and extended a warm welcome to all present. Vocal solos, delightfully sung by Mesdames Newman and Jordan, were greatly appreciated. Miss Smith, new-ly-appointed school nurse for the Island Bay district, spoke on the valuable work being done by the school nurses, and urged the necessity of the sympathy and co-operation of the parents. She was warmly thanked for her instructive talk. Nurse Small spoke on the Children's Health Camp movement. Her description of the methods adopted for creating new life in the children, the wholesome diet, and the rest period so essential to health progression, was interesting. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded Nurse Small, and members were enthusiastic in their applause. Tea was served.
