TROPHIES FOR CENTRE
A meeting of the Wellington-Hawke's 'Bay Pipe Band Centre was held on Saturday evening. Pipe-Major J. G. Bedding presided. ' ~ ! It was decided to purchase three cups for annual competition, together with miniatures. The cups are to be known as the Manawatu-Wanganui for the quickstep; Wairarapa-Hawke's Bay for the test selection, and the WellingtonNelson for the drum-majors' display. The cups are to be handed to the winining bands at the recent contest. i: An application for affiliation from the Hastings and District Scots Society Pipe Band was approved. The Wanganui Pipe Band applied for admission to the centre, as it desired to transfer from the Wanganui-Taranaki Centre. The application was granted. The delegates were entertained by the Wellington Caledonian Society at a dance. . ' ■•' ■- '. '.' ?
