NORTH ISLAND MEETING
WELLINGTON SUCCESSES

WANGANUI, This Day.
In brilliant sunshine the second North Island air pageant to be held at Wanganui was opened by an impressive flight formation over the city,on Saturday morning. Among the thirty two aeroplanes participating jvere Mr. E. Clarke's Percival Gull, the Canterbury Aero Club's Monospar, Mr. D. Mill's Hornet Moth, Air Force Vildebeest bombers, the Marlborough Aero Club's Waco, and the Wellington Aero Club's Miles Hawk trainer.
Practically all the competitions were held in the morning, which was .very fortunate as by the afternoon a strong wind made conditions very unpleasant. The judges were:—Squadron-Leader T. M. Wilkes, M.C., Director of Air Services, assisted by Flight-Lieut. M. W. Buckley, Flying-Officers E. G. Alson. R. J. Cohen. C. E. Kay, and R. Lester. Following are the results of the various competitions:— Bledisloe Trophy.—G. C. Martin (Wellington Aero Club), 258 points, 1; A. W. Britton (Hawke's Bay and East Coast Clubs), 218 points, 2; M. H. McKenzie (Middle Districts). 180 points, 3.
