The Department of Agriculture has received the following cablegram, dated March 6, from the High Commissioner for New Zealand, London:—' Tallow.—Market very quiet at about 6d below last week's rates. .■.,■' Hemp.—Manila: Market steady. Value "X" grade .for March-May, shipments, £32 15s. Sisal: Market quiet: but steady. Sellers, quote March-May shipments £28 15s, May-July £29. New Zealand: Market nominally unchanged. No first-hand sales reported. ■_■ Apples.—Little more demand. Oregon Newtowns, 10s 6d to 12s 6d; British Columbian Delicious, 10s to 10s 6d. Pears. — Slightly easier. _ .South African Brownlee's Russet, 8s to 12s 6d, Californian Winter Nelis, 12s 6d to 13s. First arrivals from New Zealand per Fordsdale due about March 26, late than usual. , ■ '
