- Wet weather again precluded any work on the plough track _■ at the Hawera racecourse yesterday morning, all exercise work being performed on the sand and inside oval. . :
Lowenberg, after going a round . at half-pace, speeded up arid came home the last half-mile of a second circuit very, solidly. He is shaping well in his work. Friesland was apportioned light exercise and Gaystep half-pace work.
■ Notium hit out well in a round of solid pace work. All going well, J. Brown is booked to, leave on Wednesday next with the chestnut for the Ohinemuri Meeting.
The. steeplechase mare Indiscretion, who came in very big and has been getting through plenty of solid pace work, is still on the big side. She is to be given a race in the hurdles at Stratford, when she will be ridden by P. Button.
One Whetu has freshened up nicely and is ready to send along in view of the Stratford Meeting.
