DUTCH ATTITUDE
JAPANESE EXPANSION
(Received March 2, 10 a.m.) . . THE HAGUE, March 1. It is authoritatively stated that a pact with Japan is not in line with Dutch policy, and that land concessions in New Guinea will only be considered individually and not collectively.
. It was suggested in the Japanese Diet that Japan should conclude a nonaggression pact with Holland and also that Japan should approach Holland for permission, to lease Dutch NewGuinea. The Prime Minister (Mr. (Hayashi) replied that the matter would be studied, adding that Japan had no territorial ambitions in. the Dutch East Indies.
