'JUST WHAT COUNTRY NEEDS'

SUPPORT FOR ROOSEVELT

NEW YORK, February 27.

Governor F. La Follette, of Wisconsin, a Progressive, defended President Roosevelt's Judiciary programme. He asserted that the country's great need was a Supreme Court which would itself obey the Constitution, and not amend it by Judicial decree.

He admitted that the President was attempting to change decisions of the Court, but that was just what was' needed. The spectacle of a few men blocking the progress of 130,000,000 people by twisting and distorting the plain terms of the Constitution in accord with outworn prejudice was a situation which needed correction.
