PRODUCE IN MANAWATU.

The Dominion" Auctioneering Co., Paltnerston North,- reports as follows:— During the week large supplies of fruit and produce have been coming forward and the demand all through has been very keen. There has been a noticeable increase ' in the price of tomatoes and good lines were keenly sought after. Following are the realisations:—

Fruit: Raspberries, 8s 6d to 12s 6d per tin; apricots, 5s to 8s 9d per case; greengages, 9s 6d to 11s 3d per case; plums, 6s to 10s 3d per case; peaches, 7s to 9s 6d per case; grapes, 9d to Is Id per pound; choice cured iemons, 8s 6d to 13s per case, others 5s to 7s per case; apples, bushel cases, Albany Beauty and Gravensteins 6s 6d to 10s dd per case, C.O.P. 8s to 10s 6d per case, cookers 5s to 7s per case; pears, W.B.C. 8s to 10s per case, L.B.J. 7s to 10s 6d per case, cooking pears 5s to 6s; nectarines, 8s 6d to 10s 6d per case; pineapples, 17s per case; bananas, 13s to 16s 6d per case.

Produce: Spinach, Is to Is 6d per dozen; pumpkins, 5s to 8s 3d per sack; potatoes, 6s to 9s per cwt; onions, 5s to 6s per bag; marrows, Is 9d to 2s 6d per case; lettuce, Is to 3s Id per case; kumeras, 5s 6d to 6s 6d per bag; peas, 7d ,to Is 2d per peck; beans, Id to 2^d per lb; cucumbers, 3s 6d to 5s per halfcase; cabbages, 2s to 6s per bag; cauliflowers, 4s 3d to 6s 6d per bag; carrols, small bunches Is 6d to 2s per dozen, large bunches 5s to 7s per dozen; celery, lid to Is 8d per dozen; beetroot, 6d to Is per dozen; jam melons, 7s 9d to 9s per sack.

Poultry: We had a capacity yarding of poultry, every available pen being utilised, and a total clearance was made at the following prices:— Cockerels, heavy breeds 5s to 9s, light breeds, 2s' to 5s 6d; fat roosters, 4s 9d to 7s; light roosters, 2s to 5s 8d; fat hens, 4s to 6s 4d; light hens, is 6d to 4s 8d; pullets, best 10s 4d to 11s 2d, small 4s to 8s; drakes, young 4s 6d to 7s 6d, old 4s to ss; ducks, young 4s 8d to 7s 2d, old 3s 2d to ss; geese, 7s 6d to 8s 6d.

Pigs: Another large entry came forward, a noticeable feature being the improvement in the price of good weaners and porkers, realisations being as follows: —Small weaners, 5s 6d to 8s; medium; 9s to 12s; tops, 16s In 18s; slips. 14s to 20s;. stores, 22s to 295; light porkers, to 44s Gd.
