QUALITY OF FLOUR

MINISTER'S CHALLENGE

The criticism that has been levelled at the quality of New Zealand flour was the subject of comment by the Minister of Industries and Commerce (the Hon. D. G. Sullivan) today. The Minister said that some of this criticism had been brought before his notice. He mentioned particularly a letter which appeared in the "Evening Post" on Wednesday last, in which "Working Baker" said he would like the Research Department "to come into the bakehouse and prove the quality of the flour from a commercial and not an experimental point of view." The Minister stated that he would be only too pleased to seize the opportunity which "Working Baker" apparently desired, and, if that gentleman would be good enough to let the Minister have his name and address, he would be glad to arrange the practical demonstration to which he referred.
