ATHLETES FOR CHRISTCHURCH
Owing to the postponement of the Dewar Shield meeting last Saturday it was decided during the week m order to assist the selector (Mr A. C. Kitto) in his selection of the Wellington team, for Christchurcli, to make provision in the programme for the meeting between the Wellington and Wanganui clubs at the Basin Reserve tonight for a number of athletes from other clubs to compete in the scratch events. If this had not been done Mr. Kitto would have had no opportunity of seeing how certain competitors shaped before the Christchurcli meeting on January 30. Some eighteen members of other clubs have been invited to compete in the scratch events with the Wanganui and Wellington clubs' representatives, and their presence should make for additional interest in the meeting. Mr. A. Hose (Wellington Club) has been appointed manager of the Wellington team for Christchurch; it will probably comprise about twelve competitors.
