GILBY'S COLLEGE

SUCCESSFUL STUDENTS The director of Gilby's College has received by air mail from London the results of an examination in typewriting held in June last by local supervisors on behalf of the Incorporated Phonographic Society (typists' section), London. Through, an oversight owing to a change in secretaries in London the results were not notified earlier. The tests comprise a ten-minute accuracy test to be typed from straightforward matter, typing letters and literary matter from badly written and confused manuscripts, also tabular matter and theory questions in the advanced and intermediate grades. One hundred and six candidates were examined and one hundred and four qualified for a certificate. The names of the successful candidates are as under:— Advanced Grade.—First class pass: Margaret Dwyer-, Helen Hampton, Patricia McDermott, Lorna McNeill. Second class pass: Margaret Baillie, Jean Mcintosh, James Smyth, W. G. Nicholson.
