LORD VAL BACK IN WORK
The hurdler Lord Val, who has been having a spell extending over several months on his owner's farm, has returned to R. S. Bagby's stable at Ellerslie. Towards the end of last season Lord Val showed improved form as a hurdler. At the Wellington Winter Meeting last July he registered a win in the Corunna Hurdles, besides securing a second and third respectively in two other events. Another recent addition to Bagby's stable is a colt by Beau Pere from The Begum. The newcomer is a halfbrother to Mazir and is a shaoely colt, whose appearance and breeding suggest that he should gallop well.
