HUTT TEAMS AT PLAY

Largely owing to an excellent century by Stehr, the Hutt District Club was able to turn the tables on the Hutt Valley B team in their match at the Hutt Recreation Ground on Saturday, and the former side emerged with a win by four wickets and 31 runs. The game was commenced on New Year's Day, Hutt Valley having then in their second innings lost one wicket for 22 runs, their first innings total being 152. Hutt District's first innings realised only 128, and when the Valley team in their second innings made 194 the District Club were left with 219 to make to win. Wickets fell cheaply at first, but Stehr, who made 118 retired, assisted by Sissons (54 retired), formed a solid front against the attacking bowlers. Details:— HUTT VALLEY B.
