OAMARU, January 2. The Oamaru Jockey Club's New Year Meeting was held today under perfect weather conditions. There was a record attendance, and the totalisator turnover was the largest since 1930, being £12,223 for the win-and-place machine, compared with £9783 10s last year, when the 75-25 totalisator was in operation, an increase of £2439 10s.
