TWO NEW BATTLESHIPS
THE KEELS LAID MORE TO FOLLOW SOON (Received January 2, 1.45 p.m.") LONDON, January 1. The keel of the new battleship King George V was laid at the yard of Vickers-Armstrongs, Ltd., today. The keel of the battleship Prince of Wales was laid at Messrs. Cammel Lairdsyard at Birkenhead. Both are of 35,000 tons. They are being started at the earliest possible moment after the expiration of the Washington and London Naval Treaties. At least two more, probably identical with the King George V and the Prince of Wales, wili be started in 1937, and tenders will be invited shortly.
