The "Daily Telegraph ' says that Britain's two-year plan for trebling her home defence in the Royal Air Force has been completed, so far as the flying personnel is concerned, three months ahead of schedule. Two thousand five hundred extra pilots who are required by the end of March have already been trained or are in training. Only a thousand additional aircraftmen are required to complete the additional 20,000 and these will be easily obtainable. First-line aircraft at present total 1040, compared with 580 in May, 1935. The number of reserve machines is not revealed, in accordance with the practice of other countries. Forty new aerodromes have been selected, out of 49 required, and several of lhem will come into use in Januarv and l'ebruary.
