THAELMANN'S FATE DETENTION IN PERPETUITY (Received January 2, 1 p.m.) LONDON, January 1. The "Daily Telegraph's" Berlin correspondent understands that "detention in perpetuity" is the fate of the Communist leader Herr Thaelmann, who has resisted attempts to convert him to Nazism during' his imprisonment. Herr Torgler, who was acquitted in the Reichstag fire trial, has been released, having given an undertaking to renounce Communism.
