GOLF AT MIRAMAR
STROKE TOURNEY SHAW IN FORM
An informal tournament arranged by Reg. Butters, the Miramar professional, with considerable success was run at Miramar today in good golfing weather, with just enough wind to make play really interesting. There was not so much run on the fairways as is visual at this time of year, and though the greens were good the scoring as a whole was high. A Stableford handicap was played in the morning, concurrently with a medal round, forming part of a 36-hole medal competition for the day. The Stableford competition resulted: — D. A. Smith 26 (11) 37; A. J. Shaw 38 (plus 2) 36; R. M. Rawlinson 28 (8) 36: K. Jeffery 35 (1) 36; L. D. Hurst 33 (3) 36; F. L. Hornabrook 27 (9) 36; H. M. Dykes 28 (8) 36; N. Flanagan 32 (3) 35; J. G. Hughes 23 (12) 35; R. Samson 23 (12) 35; H. A. Black (scr) 34; C. Mills 26 (8) 34; D. B. Stratmore 30 (4) 34; W. J. Davidge 34 (1) 35. The best gross card in the morning medal round was that of A. J. Shaw, which read as follows:— Out: 545333435 35 In: 443434465 37 Total '. 72 Other gross cards were:—K. Jeffery, 75; H. A. Black, 76; W. Flanagan, 78; W. J. Davidge, 76.
