HEAD-ON COLLISION
MOTOR-CYCLIST BADLY HURT OTHER MISHAPS A head-on collision in Ngahauranga Gorge at about 5.40 p.m. on Thursday between a motor-car and a motor-cycle ridden by Earlc Leney, a motor mechanic. 18 years of age, living at 130 Abel Smith Street, resulted in severe injuries being received by Leney, who was taken to the hospital by the Free Ambulance suffering from concussion, a compound fracture of the left leg, and fractures of the right thigh and left wrist. His condition was serious when he arrived, and there was no change this morning. The accident occurred halfway between the municipal abattoirs and the Hutt Road on a straight portion of the road. Leney was thrown over the front of the car. A collision between a motor-cycle ridden by R. Prier, a wickerworker, of 236b Queen's Drive, Lyall Bay, and a motor-car occurred in Wellington Road at 1.30 a.m. yesterday. Prier was removed to hospital by the Free Ambulance suffering from concussion. His condition had improved slightly this morning. Two cars collided at the corner of Ellesmere Avenue and Hobart Street, Miramar, at 6.40 p.m. on Thursday, and May Creed, a schoolgirl, of 14 Torridon Road. Miramar, received severe scalp wounds. She was taken to the hospital by the Free Ambulance.
