Auckland.— The sixth series of matches in the senior championship of the Auckland Cricket Association was commenced on Saturday under good batting conditions. Christchurjch.— Cricket matches were played in fine but dull weather. The wickets and outfields were in good order and several good scores were made. St. Albans. playing Old Boys, scored 333 (O'Brien 152, Martin 40, Graham four for 70). East Christchurch 182 (Davies not out 61, Davis 48, Sharpe four for 87) played West Christchurch. seven for 34, Riccarton 359 for six wickets declared (Jacobs 165, Rose 47, Roberts 74)' played Old Collegians 72 for no wickets. Sydenham, playing Lancaster Park, made 296 for four wickets (Oliver 99, Butterfield not out 70, Gray not out 69. Mapplebeck three for 42).

Dunedin; —Cricket matches were played under ideal conditions. Carisbrook A 378 defeated Dunedin 248 (Badcock 113, Holley 66, Egan not out 32 Dunning six for 110) and 114 for three (Robertson not out 50, Foster not out 30, Dunning two for 34). Albion 181 and 110 for five (Ditchfield1 41) defeated Old Boys 129 (Mills 58, Silver three for 33, Smith three for 16). Kaikorai 210 and -£2 for six (Mathias not out 57) beat University 187 (Gowland 35, Uttley 39, C. Toomey not" out 63. Ahlbrandt five for 55).
